I was born in January 1984, in a small Welsh town called Builth Wells. Never one to shy away from the stage, I enjoyed acting from an early age, being placed in lead roles in most school plays. After studying Media at University, graduating with a 2:1 degree in 2005 I caught the travelling bug!! Flying off for what I thought would be a year of travelling around New Zealand, became the start of a genuine love affair with the Country I now happily call home. The love blossomed in the Bay of Islands, where I first began to sing in a band. Realising I had just paid for my accommodation at the end of the first night of performing with musicians on stage was a surprising and incredible feeling, one I will never get tired of!
After singing with a band of 4 kiwi lads for a few months, things started to slow down, as we all went our separate ways. Not wanting to let the start be the end, I formed one half of a band called Plan B with a guitarist I knew at the time. After another few months of enjoyable singing as a duo, it, like the first band, did not last. I was more determined than ever to sing for the people of New Zealand and so I picked up a guitar, in an attempt to become a one woman band! Six months later I had a gig lined up, supporting a fellow musician friend at a local cafe. I was shaking so bad with nerves but knew I had to overcome the feeling to run, and stick it out!! From that first performance, I got another gig for a private function and the ball was rolling!! After 7 years of hard work and many, many late nights, I am now a professional solo musician and I can't think of anything I'd rather be doing.
